Solutions for Low Back pain in Lancaster, PA

Many people come into my office complaining of lower back pain. It is common everywhere in the world and Lancaster Pennsylvania is no exception.

In this series of videos, I dive into the complexity of the human body in the hopes of giving you some ideas of why you might be experiencing low back pain.

In part three of my series on back pain, I’m going to be talking about the psoas muscle. The psoas is a large muscle connecting the vertebra of our low back to the upper thigh (see picture below).

Psoas Muscle can be the driver of low back pain and hip pain.

Psoas Muscle can be the driver of low back pain and hip pain.

I’ve heard many horror stories from patients and clients who have had other health practitioners work on their psoas to reduce lumbar pain or hip pain which has led to more pain and flare-ups of previous injuries.

It takes a lot of skill subtly and patience to effectively massage and treat this area. I have been practicing since 2010 and have found that less is often more when massaging the psoas.

As a way to desensitize the area for people, I often give them things they can do themselves to work up and prepare their body to handle massage and hands-on work to this area.

Check out my video on how to work on your psoas on your own to relieve low back pain and discomfort.
